Greg Smith, founder and CEO of Urban Visions, controls strategic and creative direction for the company. As a fifth-generation Seattleite, Greg is dedicated to preserving Seattle’s rich history and distinctive culture. By integrating sustainable development practices into all of his projects, Greg directly addresses density, traffic reduction, sprawl, and other activities which negatively impact the environment. Greg is passionate about sustainable real estate, and his forward-thinking approach to development helped elevate Seattle on the list of our nation's top green cities*. Thanks to the success of his Seattle South Downtown Vision Project, Greg aided in the rezone of the City Center and South Downtown districts.
Smith was formerly a principal of Martin Smith Inc, which was founded by his father in 1948; he was also president and founder of MSI’s subsidiary, Martin Smith Development Corporation. While there, Smith and his partners managed a portfolio of more than 6.5 million square feet, brokered in excess of $1 billion in real estate transactions, and formed over 20 real estate ventures totaling in excess of $500 million.
With project successes including Millennium Tower, IDX Tower, 5th and Madison, 901 Fifth, and the Reedo Building, Greg has established himself as a true Seattle visionary. A respected leader and frequent speaker on sustainable real estate, he dedicates his time to several committees, including sustainability, zoning and other interests that directly improve Seattle’s livability.
