Property Facts:
The Reedo Building is located in Pioneer Square just south of King Street and across from Qwest Field. Formerly known as The Washington Shoe Building, an entity affiliated with Urban Visions acquired this gem in April of 2002 after the Nisqually Earthquake left the building in shambles. With sustainability and preservation amongst the companies’ top priorities, renovation efforts focused primarily on enhancing the building’s original character while applying sustainable design practices wherever possible. The goal was to preserve the historic brick and timber façade yet bring the building up-to-date structurally, aesthetically and technologically. This included extensive historic restoration, seismic upgrading, a new penthouse level and rooftop solarium, the addition of an energy-efficient heating system, broad use of ecologically sensitive and recycled materials, reuse of site-harvested materials, and operable windows throughout. Greg named the building “Reedo” to commemorate the passing of Reed Lloyd, his good friend and banker at The Commerce Bank of Washington. The ground floor is currently leased to the Elysian Fields Restaurant and Brewery, with the remaining five floors dedicated to office tenants. The building’s prime location affords tenants and visitors effortless freeway access as well as proximity to Union Station and Seattle’s new Link Light Rail.
